'Chrome, Fins & Style' Hits Royal Oak On Aug. 4
A Royal Oak art show will highlight the design of classic cars.
ROYAL OAK, MI — Car enthusiasts are often referred to as “gear heads.” But an upcoming Royal Oak art show proves that you don’t have to enjoy rebuilding carburetors or drag racing to appreciate the style, form and design of automobiles. The “Chrome, Fins & Style” show at the Royal Oak Historical Society on Aug. 4 will highlight the majesty of classic cars start at 7 p.m.
“This is the third annual exhibit Edwards has put together at the museum. This year it encompasses the role of women and minority auto designers, as well as advertising art that was used to sell the cars.
“The early years in the auto business, like all businesses, were dominated by white males,” said Muriel Versagi, curator of the museum. “But that began to change.”
