Cops Bust 6 For Marijuana Possession

Royal Oak police busted six people for marijuana possession over the last week.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Royal Oak police made seven arrests for drug and alcohol-related incidents between July 27 and Aug. 3. According to the department, those arrests included six for marijuana possession and one person was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

In all, Royal Oak police made 32 arrests during the period, including 10 for misdemeanor warrants two for felony warrants. Here’s a rundown of incidents in the community:

Breaking and entering

  • 3700 block of Coolidge Hwy, 7-27-17, 1:45 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) entered the home by removing an air conditioner shroud and stole a TV, stereo receiver, and a guitar.
  • 300 block of N. Washington Ave., 7-28-17 – 8-1-17, 5:00 p.m. – 8:21 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) broke the rear entry door of a home under construction and stole numerous power tools and accessories.
  • 1800 block of Northwood Blvd., 8-2-17, 12:29 p.m.: Complainant reported a suspect was observed entering the attached garage of a residence and stealing a bicycle from that garage, riding it away. Responding officers located and arrested the suspect on the stolen bicycle several blocks from the scene. The case is still under investigation.

  • 1000 block of Cedar Hill, 7-24-17, 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his identification.
  • 32000 block of Woodward Ave., 7-28-17, 7:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) broke the rear window of his 2017 Buick and stole several pair of sunglasses, a tablet and accessories, and numerous gift cards.

Larceny

  • 1016 W. Eleven Mile Road (YMCA), 7-26-17, 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) stole his locked Trek bicycle from the bike rack.
  • 3000 block of W. Thirteen Mile Rd., 7-24-17 – 7-29-17, 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) stole her locked Mongoose mountain bike from the bike rack.
  • 3000 block of W. Thirteen Mile Rd., 7-28-17 – 7-30-17, 6:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) stole a tire and rim off her parked 2007 Chevrolet. 17-27836
  • 1735 N. Main St. (TLC Auto), 8-2-17, 3:50 p.m. – 4:07 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) stole a cash box from the counter area of the business during business hours.
