Detroit Lions 2017 NFL Schedule: Playoffs Again?

The Detroit Lions will be shooting for the second straight NFL playoff appearance in 2017.

METRO DETROIT, MI — After finishing the 2016 season 9-7 and losing in the first round of the playoffs, the Detroit Lions will kick off 2017 with a preseason game on the road Aug. 13 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Lions also play the New York Jets, the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills in the preseason.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford is back to lead the Lions. After a productive passing game in 2016, the University of Georgia QB is looking forward to the return of running back Ameer Abdullah this year. On defense, the Lions are looking at a revamped linebacking corp, led by rookie Jarrad Davis out of the University of Florida.
