Happy Father's Day: Poem for Dad
A Royal Oak Patch reader shares how much her father means to her.

Ashley Nestorovska, a 19-year-old college student shared a poem written to express what her father, Lou, means to her on this Father's Day:
"He always expresses his love for his family and puts us first in his life, so I thought I'd give him a little appreciation," Ashley said.
He never looks for praises
He's never one to boast
He just goes on quietly working
For those he loves the most
His dreams are seldom spoken
His wants are very few
And most of the time his worries
Will go unspoken too
He's there.... a firm foundation
Through all my storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold to
In times of stress and strife
A true friend I can turn to
When times are good or bad
One of my greatest blessings,
The man that I call Dad.
When I was a baby,
He would hold me in his arms.
I felt the love and tenderness,
keeping me safe from harm.
I would look up into his eyes,
and all the love I would see.
How did I get so lucky,
you were the dad chosen for me.
There is something special
about a father's love.
Seems it was sent to me as an angel
from someplace up above.
He has wings that wrap me tight
Everlasting love and comfort with all their might.
I love you Dad!
-Ashley
