Sick Children Get Private Screening Of Toy Story 4 In Royal Oak

Thanks to the Bottomless Toy Chest, these young cancer patients will get the VIP treatment at Emagine Theater.

ROYAL OAK, MI — For some kids who battle illness, the simplest things can make them forget about their problems.

For an eighth year, The Bottomless Toy Chest will host a group of local pediatric cancer patients and their families to a special private screening of the fun new movie “Toy Story 4” on July 18.

The brave children, along with their families, will be treated like Hollywood royalty as they walk a red carpet into Royal Oak’s Emagine Theater. Following the movie, they are invited to an exclusive fun-filled pizza party with crafts, face-painting, a photo booth games and surprises.

The Bottomless Toy Chest is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization devoted to delivering toys, crafts and hands-on activities to hospitalized pediatric cancer patients in 10 hospitals throughout Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, and Texas. The mission of The Bottomless Toy Chest is to lift the spirits and promote a positive state of mind in young cancer patients and patients with serious blood disorders by providing them with engaging, empowering activities while they are going through treatment.

All toys donated to The Bottomless Toy Chest are brand new and wrapped in cellophane and ribbon by volunteers. The cellophane keeps the items clean for children with weakened immune systems, while allowing kids to choose their toy, and have a sense of control in a hospital environment. These wrapped toys give children who are under a great deal of physical and emotional distress the happy experience of opening a present.
