Do You Have What It Takes To Be a Community Leader?

The Saline Leadership Institute is now accepting applications for Class 15.

What “color” are you? Have you ever done an IdeaMap? Are you curious about what Peter Senge is talking about in his book The Fifth Discipline? What does “mental models” mean? How do you get shared vision in your organization? If any of this piques your interest, Saline Leadership Institute may be for you.

Since its inception in 1998, over 300 community leaders from Saline and surrounding cities have “graduated” from SLI, after learning about the Five Disciplines of personal mastery, mental models, team learning, shared vision and systems thinking.

According to Leslee Niethammer, an SLI graduate and current planning chair, plans are underway for the next group of students.

“We invite anyone in the Saline area to join the class and learn about the five disciplines as articulated by Peter Senge in his book The Fifth Discipline,” Niethammer said.

The 10-month program begins with a 2-day retreat, April 26–27. The sessions are the third Thursday of every month beginning in May and ending in January 2013.
