Fisher Leads Hornets Over Skyline in Final Home Meet
Fisher, Ehrman and Boland were double winners for Saline.
The Hornets’ swim and dive won their final home meet of the year at Saline High School Thursday, defeating Skyline 129-56.
Josh Ehrman set a Saline High School pool record in the in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning the event in 58.59 seconds. James Fisher won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races. David Boland won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events.
“It was a nice way to finish up at home. We’ve got a great group of guys who’ve worked hard all year. We’ve got a couple more days of hard practice. Then we rest. Then we compete,” said Saline head coach Todd Brunty.

Saline, the two-time defending state champion, competes in the SEC meet at Pioneer next Friday and Saturday.
The Hornets opened the evening with Tom Walls, Ehrman, Fisher and Adam Whitener winning the 200-yard relay in 1:38.08.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Boland finished the event in 1:44.21. Michael Bundas was third and Lucas Allen was fourth.
Whitener won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:00.07. Stefan Koberl was second with a D1 state-cut time of 2:03.49.
Fisher won the 50-yard freestyle event in 21.95. Matt Stevens was third and Tom Walls was fourth.
Sam Blair won the diving event with 230.10 points as Saline went 1-2-3. Ethan Johson was second and Dustin Wall was third.
Ehrman won the 100-yard butterfly in 52.01. Whitener was second in 53.20.
Fisher won the 100-yard freestyle in 48.23. Matt Stevens (50.46) and Tom Walls (50.76) completed the 1-2-3 Saline senior sweep.
Boland won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:46.93. Bundas was third in 5:01.08.
Saline had relay teams finish 1-2 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Ehrman, Whitener, Bundas and Boland were first in 1:27.45. The all-senior team of Fisher, Walls, McCullough and Stevens were second in 1:31.53.
Koberl won the 100-backstroke in 57.87. Matt Lund was second in 59.24. Matt Sieffert was fourth in 1:00.18.
Ehrman set the school’s pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 58.59 to win his second event of the evening. Lucas Allen was third in 1:06.62.
