Saline's varsity wrestling team took third place at a competitive tournament at L'Anse Cruese Saturday. The team defeated Dearborn Crestwood 42-21, Livonia Stevenson 45-31 and Utica Eisenhower 60-15 before losing a close match to Portage Central 41-27 then getting beat by state powerhouse Richmond 64-3. Taylor Ticknor was 5-0, Ryan Boxeth, Nate O'Sullivan and Alex Cornelius were 4-1, and Ryan Wellings and Chris Slattery were 3-2. Adam Bruley was 2-1. Saline travels to Chelsea on Wednesday, Jan. 11, to take on Chelsea and Ann Arbor Huron. visits Jackson Northwest on Saturday, Jan. 14, for an individual tournament.
