Saline's Superintendent Receives High Marks - The Sun Times News (thesuntimesnews.com) — Saline Area Schools Superintendent Rachel Kowalski has earned an “effective” rating, the highest possible under Michigan’s current evaluation system, in every performance category from the school board. Board members praised her communication, stability during leadership transition, and engagement with curriculum issues, signaling strong confidence in the district’s direction for Saline families.
   

2. Saline Council Approves Indoor Soccer Facility (thesuntimesnews.com) — Saline City Council has approved special land use so the former Bank Supplies building at 1271 Industrial Dr. can become an indoor training facility for the Saline Area Soccer Association. The space will be used only for practices, not public tournaments or events, and no exterior changes are planned. Officials say it’s a good reuse of the building and compatible with nearby businesses.
   

3. Saline Approves Road Work, Culvert Project (thesuntimesnews.com) — Saline City Council has approved a contract to continue resurfacing Woodland Dr. and fully replace an aging culvert, with major work expected to start in spring 2027. The project will affect routes to Woodland Meadows Elementary, so the city is coordinating detours with the school district. Funded from Saline’s Major Road Funds, the work aims to prevent further culvert deterioration.
   

4. Jim Harbaugh says he texted Sherrone Moore after ex-Michigan coach's firing, arrest (nytimes.com) — Police detained former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore in Saline earlier this month as part of an alleged assault investigation tied to his firing from the university. He was arrested after officers tracked his phone to Well Church in Saline, then arraigned on home invasion, stalking, and related charges. Jim Harbaugh has since said he’s been in contact, urging Moore to focus on his family.
   

5. Live Transmission: Saline's Next Wave Is Making a Splash (thesalinepost.com) — Saline girls basketball just took a rare early-season loss, but emerging standouts like Halle Powell and Harper Backus are giving fans plenty to be excited about. With defenses swarming senior scorer Keira Roehm, the Hornets are developing new offensive weapons that could make this Saline squad especially dangerous as the season unfolds.
