Police Report: Tools Stolen from Vehicle on Clark Street

The following news reports are from Saline Police Department records dated Feb. 6-13. An arrest does not indicate conviction.

A 38-year-old Saline man reported to that more than $3,700 worth of tools was stolen from his vehicle parked on the 300 block of Clark Street.

According to the police report, the victim told police that he parked his vehicle near his condo at about 10 p.m. Feb 3. Driving to work Feb. 6, he realized many of his tools were missing, according to the report.

Police have no suspects.

Woman Reports Purse Take from Car at Pump

 A 59-year-old Clinton woman who works at ACH reported that someone stole her purse from her vehicle while it was parked at the BP Station at 924 E. Michigan Ave. shortly after noon Feb. 10.

According to the report, the woman fueled her 2004 Chevy Tahoe at the pumps and left her purse unattended on the front passenger seat of the unlocked vehicle when she went into the store. She drove home and parked her vehicle in her secured garage and noticed in the afternoon that her purse was missing, according to the report. A BP employee told police that no purse was found or turned in at the station, according to the report.

Saline Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

Police took custody of a 35-year-old Saline man wanted on warrants for failure to appear for charges of retail fraud and driving with a suspend license. Michigan State Police picked the Henry Street man Feb. 7.  Police took custody of the suspect and transported him to the Washtenaw County Jail.

Clinton Woman Arrested on Five Warrants

Police arrested a 25-year-old Clinton woman on charges of driving with a suspended license and several outstanding warrants Feb. 7.

Just after midnight, police stopped a vehicle with expired plates. According to police, a records check indicated the driver had five active license suspensions and five active warrants out of several jurisdictions.

Van Buren police took custody of the woman. America 1 impounded her vehicle.

Girl Locks Herself In School Bathroom

Saline Police were called when a 17-year-old student locked herself in a bathroom at Saline Alternative High School on Feb. 8, according to a report. The girl locked herself in the bathroom because she was unhappy with the new seating arrangements in a class and because school officials were attempting to confiscate her cell phone, according to the report.

Police helped mediate the dispute and the girl returned to class.

Ann Arbor Woman Arrested for Driving With Suspended License

A 38-year-old Ann Arbor woman was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license Feb. 12. At 11:50 p.m., police stopped a driver for speeding near North Ann Arbor and McKay streets, according to the report. A records check showed the driver’s license was suspended and a warrant out of Oak Park. The woman was arrested and escorted to an ATM before posting a $500 bond. She was ticketed and released.

The Saline Police Department handled three reports of drivers failing to stop for a school bus between Feb. 6 and Feb. 13.

Man Forgets Where He Hid His Jewelry

On Feb. 11, police received a call from a 62-year-old Saline resident who said that someone had stolen $2,500 worth of jewelry from his home. A few hours later the man told police he’d located the missing jewelry in a secret place he had forgotten about.
