Rotarians Host Lunch for Saline Area Farmers

This Saline Rotary Club tradition has been going on for more than 50 years.

The Saline Rotary Club will host its annual Farmer Day Luncheon at noon on Thursday, March 22 at the in Saline.

“Farmer Day has been going on for over 50 years, the Rotary Club invites all farmers to come in for a meal and fellowship, and we always have a speaker for them,” said Lyle Wahl, Saline Rotary President.

This year’s speakers will be longtime Saline area farmers, Howard and Kelvin Braun. They have been guests at the luncheon for as many years as it has been offered, and will have a presentation about their many years farming in this community.

A hearty lunch will be catered by Chef Anthony Mayo from the newly opened Brahma Steakhouse located at 4855 Washtenaw, Ann Arbor.

“Rotarians love Farmer Day and we invite any local farmers to come to lunch.  There is no cost for lunch for farmers, they are guests of the Saline Rotary Club,” said Jill Durnen, Rotary Club Administrator.
