Temperature's Rising
The local ice cream parlors were busy on the first day of spring as temperatures reached 81 Tuesday. It’ll be warmer today, with Weather.com calling for a record high of 87. The low tonight will be 53. There is a 10 percent chance of rain. Sunrise is at 7:36 a.m. and sunset is at 7:49 p.m.
Relay For Life Kickoff Moved to Thursday
The second Saline Relay for Life campaign was set to kickoff last Thursday until the skies unleashed a fury on Washtenaw County. The event starts at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at . Call 517-262-4489 to reserve a place for catering purposes.

Yard Waste Collection Begins April 5
curbside yard waste collection begins Thursday, April 5 on the regular refuse and recycling collection day and will continue through the last week of November. Yard waste must be placed five feet from your trash in properly marked reusable containers (30-gallon or smaller) or in brown paper yard waste bags. Yard waste stickers to identify your reusable containers are available at city hall or DPW. Brown paper yard waste bags are available at local stores and do not need yard waste stickers. Any single container, bag, or brush bundle must not weigh more than 60 pounds. Reusable containers must have the yard waste sticker facing the street and visible for pickup. Brush and tree limbs up to 6 inches in diameter must be tied and bundled, not over 4 feet in length or 60 pounds in weight. Loose material will not be collected. There is a limit of six bags, cans or bundles of yard waste collected per week. The items collected can be a combination of bags, cans of yard waste, or bundles of brush. For additional questions or if you exceed the collection limits, call Waste Management at 1-800-796-9696.
