Saline's O'Sullivan Wrestles at State Meet
Nate O'Sullivan lost his open match at the MHSAA finals Thursday.

Saline junior Nate O'Sullivan needs a win to stay alive at the MHSAA wrestling finals being held at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
O'Sullivan, wrestling in the 130-pound bracket in Division 1, lost his opening match to Rockford's Tyler VanRooyen, in an 18-3 T-Fall.
O'Sullivan (40-10) entered the finals as a third seed from the regional held at VanRooyen (36-5) was a second seed from his regional.

He faces an uphill battle to make the podium at The Palace. Friday morning, he faces Davison's Matthew Miller, a sophomore with a 26-6 record. Miller lost to Utica Ford's Tevn Machart, 6-4, in his opening match Thursday. O'Sullivan must win his match to stay alive. The winner of the match will face the loser of the quarterfinal match between Holt's Dominick Trevino (40-3) and Chippewa Valley's Shaun Lee (49-8). O'Sullivan needs to win his next two matches to make the top eight and earn all-state honors.
