23 Mile Bridge Reduced to Two Lanes for Repairs
The 23 Mile road bridge over the M-53 expressway will be reduced to one lane in each direction this week.

The 23 Mile Road bridge over the M-53 expressway in Shelby Township has has been reduced to one lane in each direction for on-going bridge repair, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
In addition to lane closures, crews will also close one lane in each direction on M-53 at 23 Mile Road and the northbound M-53 exit ramp to westbound 23 Mile Road, and the westbound 23 Mile Road entrance ramp to southbound M-53, according to MDOT.
Lane and ramp closures will be removed Friday, weather permitting.

These closures are part of an ongoing $1.2 million project to repair four overpasses above M-53 in Macomb County. Work is scheduled to be completed in late August.
