Construction Alert: Van Dyke Between 24 and 25 Mile Road Closed

Detours will be posted beginning Friday as construction crews shut down Van Dyke between 24 and 25 Mile Road to work on replacing a drain.

Construction crews have closed Van Dyke Avenue between 24 and 25 Mile roads in Shelby Township through the weekend.

Van Dyke Avenue will be completely closed at the Clinton River so construction crews can replace a drain culvert.  There will be no traffic allowed to cross the river for the entire duration of the project.  The remainder of Van Dyke Avenue, just around the river, will remain open to allow people to access local businesses and residential roads.

The closure began at 6 p.m. Friday and is expected to re-open at 6 a.m. Monday. Project Engineer Bryan Santo said if crews finish the project earlier, the road will by reopen Sunday.
