Crime Report: Vandalism Plagues Shelby Twp. Residents

Shelby Township police investigate a rash of vandalism incidents last week that damaged vehicles.

Shelby Township police investigated at least four reports of malicious destruction of property to vehicles last week.

Sometime overnight on July 15, the tires of a silver Buick LeSabre were slashed while the car was parked on Meadowview Drive. The case was closed because there were no witnesses.

The driver's side window of a parked Chevy on Whittby Way Drive was smashed on July 17. The owner of the vehicle told police that no items were taken, but it will cost him $500 to repair the window.

The driver's side rear window of a motor home parked near 25 Mile and Mound was broken on July 17, but nothing inside was stolen. Police checked for fingerprints or other evidence, but nothing was retrieved.

A baseball bat was used to break the windshield of a red Chrysler Sebring parked on Swallow Drive on July 17. Police said the bat hit the window three times near the upper driver's side area. There were no witnesses or suspects identified.
