Photos: Vintage Glamour Salon’s Little Star Cuts the Ribbon
Shelby Township welcomes its newest salon, Vintage Glamour on Van Dyke Avenue.
Vintage Glamour Salon's "little smurf" helped her parents cut the ribbon on their new salon on Van Dyke in Shelby Township Friday afternoon.
For Sal and Ridvana Pali, the salon’s grand opening is the culmination of more than a year’s worth of work and another two years of dreaming about owning their own salon.
The couple's idea to open the salon became concrete when Sal was displaced from Chrysler in 2008. That's when Rivdana, who has been doing hair for more than 14 years, and her husband put their heads together and started looking for the perfect spot.

And now, they have a little helper, Neti, 6, who told Patch she was the "boss" at the salon.
Rivdana wanted the salon to reflect her passion for old Hollywood retro glamour. The interior is rich, with crystal chandeliers, upholstered seats and photos of 40s and 50s starlets.
