Shelby Parks and Recreation Launches Kids Summer Baseball League

Batter up.... The Shelby Township Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for volunteer coaches and players for the summer baseball and softball league.

If you still have spring baseball fever, then this is for you...

The Shelby Township Parks and Recreation is offering a summer kids baseball and softball league to enhance the joys of those warm summer nights on the diamond.  The league is not part of the Shelby Township Little League and therefore open to residents, and non-residents.

The season will begin mid-july and end by September 1. Practices and games will be held at Lombardo Park, Ford Field & Woodall Park. Game time is 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, and will vary on Saturdays

The fee to join, which includes a team jersey and hat is $55 for residents and $65 for non-residents.

Volunteer team managers and coaches are needed. The following positions are available.

  • Co-Ed Coach Pitch Baseball 6-8 Tue. Thu & Sat July 17
  • Boys Baseball “A” 9-11 Mon, Wed & Sat July 16
  • Girls Softball 9-12 Tue, Thu & Sat July 17
  • Boys Baseball “AA” 10-12 Mon, Wed & Sat July 16
  • Pitch Machine 8-10 Mon, Wed & Sat July 16
  • Boys Baseball “AAA” 13-15 Mon, Wed & Sat July 16
