VIDEO: McCain and Romney Supporters Think GOP Can Turn Around Economy

Several hundred veterans and GOP supporters came to the American Legion Hall 351 Monday to hear Arizona Senator John McCain speak.

Local residents told Patch Monday after Arizona Sen. John McCain came to the Utica Legion Hall in Utica that they believe the GOP can help turnaround the nation's unemployment.

McCain said America's veterans are at an even higher risk of unemployment, with a 14 percent rate, compared to a national average of eight percent.

McCain, the 2008 presidential nominee, was in Michigan campaigning on behalf of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Congresswoman Candice Miller (R-District 10) joined McCain for a roundtable discussion with eight people ranging from local veteran coordinators to military defense contractors.
