Several residents attended Tuesday night’s Shelby Township Board of Trustees meeting to express their frustration with recent cutting of vegetation by the International Transmission Company along the Macomb Orchard Trail.
The residents heard from Shelby Township Supervisor Richard Stathakis and Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel.
Both Stathakis and Hackel sympathized with the residents, but said that the ITC has the right to cut vegetation near the power lines along the trail after an agreement was approved by the Macomb Orchard Trail Commission.
