2 Dead, 2 Hurt In Metro Detroit 6-Car Crash: Reports

Police do not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI β€” Two people were killed and two others were injured after a crash over the weekend in Macomb County, according to multiple news reports.

The crash happened at 6:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 15 Mile and Schoenherr roads in Sterling Heights, reports said.

Police said a 34-year-old Sterling Heights man was speeding in a Ford Taurus and smashed into a Ford Bronco that was stopped at the intersection, reports said.

The crash's impact pushed the Bronco into traffic and hit four more cars, reports said.

The driver of the Bronco, a 78-year-old Sterling Heights woman, and the driver of the Taurus were killed in the crash, reports said.

Two other drivers were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, reports said.

Police do not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Police were still investigating the crash, which involved at least six vehicles.
