Bocce Ball A Hit With St. Clair Shores Seniors

Dozens of St. Clair Shores seniors participate in Bocce Ball each week.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — A group of St. Clair Shores seniors is proving that plenty of kid still remains in each of them. More than 50 seniors gather twice each week to place bocce ball and shuffleboard. And don’t think it’s all about having fun at the St. Clair Shores Senior Activities Center — these players are very competitive.

“It’s one of the biggest active groups we have at the center,” said Mary Cipriano, the league coordinator for the past 10 years. “It doesn’t matter what your health or capacity is; everybody can participate in this.”
"Bill Maiuri, of St. Clair Shores, agreed. “You meet a lot of good people here,” he said. “And get your butt off the couch.”
