Son Beats Mom To Death With A Broken Broomstick In Macomb Co.: Police

Prosecutors did not say what may have led to the fatal attack.​

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — A St. Clair Shores man could spend the rest of his life in prison after beating his mother to death with a broken broomstick last weekend, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.

Armando Jourdain Streeter, 46, was charged with second-degree homicide-murder and assault with intent to murder. He was placed in jail and denied bond. His next court date is scheduled for April 15.

If convicted on either count, he could be sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutors said the incident happened last Saturday inside a St. Clair Shores home where Streeter lived with his 76-year-old mother. Prosecutors said Streeter physically beat his mother to death while using a broken broomstick handle.

Prosecutors did not say what may have led to the fatal attack.

"These allegations are extremely serious and deeply concerning. This terrible act of violence cannot be tolerated, and we will fully pursue justice to the full extent of the law," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said.
