Man Hurt In Crash During Police Chase On I-94 In Macomb County: MSP

EASTPOINTE, MI — A man was seriously injured Monday morning after a crash during a police chase on Interstate 94 in Macomb County, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened at 3:15 a.m. on westbound Interstate 94 near 9 Mile Road in Eastpointe, according to police.

Police said the chase began in Sterling Heights where they spotted a stolen car. Officers tried stopping the car, but the driver sped away, police said.

Officers chased the car through Warren and onto westbound Interstate 94 where the driver eventually lost control and crashed, police said.

The 27-year-old Detroit man was ejected from the car in the crash and taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

Westbound Interstate 94 near 9 Mile Road was closed Monday morning while police were investigating the crash.
