ST. CLAIR SHORES — Tuesday’s primary election will see seven candidates vie for three open seats. The Patch sent questions to the candidates to find out a little bit about them and what their plans for St. Clair Shores would be if they won a seat.

The Patch will run the answers provided by the candidates that responded on Sunday and Monday. On Friday, candidate Candice Rusie’s profile was published as was John Caron.

What are your top priorities for your term if you win?
As a member of City Council, the top three things I wish to accomplish will have a positive effect on each generation living in Saint Clair Shores. My first priority would be to create a business task force comprised of current business owners, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders; with one goal in mind: bring more businesses to our city, to generate more taxes and provide residents with goods and services close to home.

My second priority is to improve the water quality at Blossom Heath Park and to increase the hours the beach is open. I would seek alternative funding options for the park’s revitalization; such as, funding through partnerships with government agencies and use of volunteers. Finally, my third priority would be to enhance youth programs in the city’s library and park and recreation departments. Once elected, I will focus on improving the quality of life for all residents.
