Rodgers Student Council Holds Blood Drive for American Red Cross

Students at Rodgers Elementary School may have been too young to donate blood, but that didn't stop members of the student council from holding a blood drive Tuesday for the American Red Cross.

To make the event a success, students who invited an adult to donate blood were recognized as a "Pint Size Hero."

According to results provided by Lake Shore Schools and the American Red Cross, the blood drive had a donation goal of 31. There were 39 people who were registered for the drive. Five people could not donate for minor medical reasons, but 29 people were able to donate one whole blood unit and there were two donations of two units of double red cells for a total of four products.
 
A total of 33 units were donated during the drive.
