Why are you running for City Council?
It is not about the $8,000 a year paycheck, I truly enjoy being of service to our community. I have continued to serve our community since choosing not to run again when my term ended in 2007. Already knowing the ropes, I know I will be an even stronger voice for our residents if I am fortunate to be honored by a majority of the vote in August and November.

What are your top priorities for your term if you win?
1) I’ll demonstrate how we can AVOID putting our children and grandchildren deeper in debt. This includes creating and designing projects, like Blossom Heath Beach, to be donor-funded and volunteer-powered, (such as Habitat for Humanity or Extreme Home Makeover) instead of being funded by tax dollars, bonds, or other debt loans.
2) With the help of my fellow council members and the mayor, it is my goal to change the structure of how we make the various city departments more accountable and more customer-oriented.
3) I am concerned for seniors, children, residents, and business owners of our community; we have burdened them with so much unnecessary debt. As your City Councilwoman again, I’ll have a more active and influential role. I’ll be in a position to help steer us in alternative directions in how your tax dollars are spent to provide the best and cost-effective essential services; not more hidden debt.
