Construction Begins Wednesday on Fort Street in Trenton
Find out which lanes are closing and when.

Construction began on Fort Street Wednesday from King Road to Vreeland Road in Trenton, Woodhaven, Riverview and Gibraltar. Sidewalk ramps will also be included in construction.
Drivers can expect lane closures on the near 7-mile stretch of Fort Street from Aug. 7 to mid-November.Â
Scheduled lane closures are as follows:
- Right lane of southbound Fort Street from King Road to Vreeland Road from 7 a.m. Aug. 7 to 7 p.m. Aug. 14.
- Right lane of southbound Fort Street from West Road to Vreeland Road from 7 a.m. Aug. 15 to 7 p.m. Aug. 21.
- Left lane of northbound Fort Street from Vreeland Road to King Road from 7 a.m. Aug. 15 to 7 p.m. Aug. 21.
The resurfacing project is expected to cost about $4.5 million, according to Rob Morosi, communications official for the Michigan Department of Transportation.
