Ladder Truck to Visit Trenton Pharmacy

The West Grange Pharmacy celebrates National Women's Health Week with a weeklong event culminating in an outdoor expo on Saturday.

A weeklong celebration of women’s health is set to culminate Saturday at with a day packed full of activities including a visit from the .

The event begins at 10 a.m. in an outdoor tent where several people are lined up to speak on pressing health-related issues.

The ladder truck, newest edition, is scheduled to be on site at 10 a.m. and would remain at West Grange Pharmacy unless needed for an emergency.

The event promises to have on-site health screening for attendees and health presentations every 15 minutes.

There will be refreshments, children’s activities and chances to win prizes.

The outdoor expo is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The celebration of National Women’s Health Week began Monday, and attendees enjoyed informative exhibits throughout the week on gastrointestinal health, diet and nutrition, breast health, heart health and mental health.

West Grange Pharmacy, 3390 West Road, offers the week’s event at no charge and has invited all of Downriver to enjoy their celebration of women’s health.

West Grange owner Rich Grossman said he wanted to make a commitment to the community regarding women’s health.

“The response has been tremendous,” Grossman said. “They (customers) are very appreciative and people have been waiting outside the doors when we opened to go and speak with the speaker of the day.”

Grossman has owned West Grange Pharmacy for the last 15 years when he purchased it from a friend, who was the originally owner.

Some of the original staff remains at West Grange today.

The pharmacy recently celebrated its 50th year in the community. West Grange has served the Trenton community since 1960.

People can also use the event as an opportunity to safely dispose of expired prescription medication.

West Grange offers constant safe drug disposal with their Yellow Jug campaign. Customers can visit West Grange during normal business hours to dispose of their drugs and expired prescription medication properly and safely.
