NHL Star Andy Greene's Hockey School Doesn't Keep a Dime
Each year New Jersey Devil Andy Greene returns to Trenton to give back to the community through hockey instruction at the Andy Greene Hockey School.
The Andy Greene Hockey School in TrentonΒ doesn't keep a dime.
The main focus of theΒ school, created by New Jersey Devils defenseman and former Trenton High School hockey starΒ Andy Greene, is to giveΒ back to the community.
Behind the benefit of getting hockey tipsΒ andΒ training from a professional hockey player; behind the thrill of gettingΒ autographs from and taking photosΒ with a current star in the National Hockey League (NHL) is a cause unlike any other.Β
Money earned from the annual hockey school goes back into the Trenton community through the Trenton Hockey Association, the Trenton High School hockey team and various local organizations.
"Sometimes it's not even sports related and it doesn't have anything to do with hockey," Greene said.
An added benefit to the school is the top-level instruction from a professional hockey playerΒ whose team faced the Los Angles Kings in the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals.
Greene's jersey with the number eight currently resides in the Trenton Sports Hall of Fame.
The Andy Greene Hockey School goes through Aug. 2 at the Kennedy Recreation Center in Trenton.
Registration information for the 2014 session of the Andy Greene Hockey School can be found on the school's website after the completion of the current class.
