Oakwood Southshore Medical Center to Unveil Remodeled Fifth Floor

Are your eyes aching to get a heaping helping of the newly remodeled fifth floor at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center?

The official unveiling is scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 6 on the fifth floor at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center.

Here's a list of five things you should know about the project before you head out to the unveiling:

1. The unveiling will also be a public open house and a ribbon cutting ceremony.
2. About $5 million went into the renovations on the fifth floor.
3. The 26,000-square foot renovation relocated 38 beds to provide 14 private intensive care unit beds, 15 orthopedic unit beds and nine medical surgical unit beds.
4. All 193 beds at Oakwood Southshore are now private—except one semi-private room on the second floor.
5. Tours are available to get a look at the $5 million project, which is part of a $64 million investment at Oakwood Southshore over the last several years.
