Police Blotter: Man Arrested with Crack Pipe

Police arrested a 33-year-old man for possession of drug paraphernalia after neighbors called police after seeing a suspicious looking vehicle parked in the 4500 block of Leisure Lane just before midnight on June 28.

Police said they approached the white Ford Econoline van and saw a white man sleeping in the rear of the van.

One officer knocked on the door and the man got out of the van. He identified himself to police.

The man said he was waiting for his cousin to arrive so he could use his shower and have a bed to sleep in because he said he is currently homeless.

When asked if there was anything illegal in the van the man told police that his girlfriend left a crack pipe on a shelf in the rear of the van. He told police there was no other contraband in the van.

After the man consented to a search police said they found two crack pipes and four syringes in the rear of the van. The items were confiscated, placed in a patrol car and later logged into evidence.

The man was arrested without incident and the van was impounded.
