1. Good news. The thunderstorms have gone. Bad news. Scattered showers haven't. The National Weather Service is calling for scattered showers all day with a high near 67 degrees. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation. The rain should stop overnight, and skies will remain partly cloudy with low near 55 degrees.

Volunteers will be thinning plants, weeding, installing bamboo poles and harvesting. The work begins at 9:30 a.m. Bring gloves and be ready to help your community with some good old fashioned labor.
