Trenton Scarecrow Festival 2013 Dates Selected

As the sun begins to peak out of the gloom of winter and the weather gets warmer, some Trenton residents are thinking about--fall?

The Trenton Scarecrow Festival is set for Oct. 4, 5 and 6 in Downtown Trenton.

Local organizations have received $3,000 from the festival.

Participating organizations include:

• Trenton Blades
• Trenton Girl Scout Troop 40224
• Lake Erie Metro Animal Rescue
• Trenton Girl Scout Troop 40847
• Arthurs Middle School Marching Band
• Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center
• The Bridge church
• Trenton Educational Foundation

Prize money for games and events during the festival like Scarecrow Idol, Battle of the Bands, Highland Games and the Scarecrow Building Contest exceed $1,700.
