Trenton's Bass Wins Debut with Padres

Anthony Bass, a graduate of Trenton High School, won his major-league debut with the San Diego Padres.

, a graduate of , won his major-league debut as he pitched the San Diego Padres to a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Monday night.

A right-handed starting pitcher, Bass allowed five hits and one run in 5.1 innings on the mound. He struck out one and made a nice play in the field to help his cause.

Padres manager Bud Black said he liked what he saw from the 23-year-old Bass, according to signonsandiego.com.
