3 Lanes Of I-75 Set To Reopen

METRO DETROIT, MI — Three lanes of southbound I-75, from M-59 in Auburn Hills to Coolidge Highway in Birmingham will be open by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. The work is part of the $91.8 million I-75 reconstruction project.

Starting Saturday, both directions of I-75 will have an additional intermittent single-lane closures to allow crews to open two lanes of traffic on the new southbound pavement. Throughout the remainder of the weekend into Tuesday, crews will place temporary barrier wall on the southbound side of the freeway for the final traffic shift that will allow for reconstructing the last portion of the northbound lanes from Squirrel Road to South Boulevard

By Wednesday, Aug. 2, all traffic will be maintained on the southbound side of the freeway with two lanes open northbound, along with three lanes southbound. Several ramps will close until mid-September, including:

• The Adams Road entrance ramp to northbound I-75
• The Adams Road ramp to southbound I-75
• The northbound I-75 exit to westbound Square Lake Road
• The eastbound Square Lake Road entrance to northbound I-75
• The eastbound M-59 ramp to southbound I-75.
