Donations Continue to Come in for Therapy Comfort Dog Hopeful
A university psychology student seeks help to pay for unexpected medical bills.

An online campaign to benefit a faithful friend with some major health issues has brought in $1,390 since June.
Casey Bazarewski, a Western Michigan University psychology student from Troy, started the campaign on behalf of her dog, Kurt. Bazarewski adopted Kurt earlier this year in hopes of training the Yellow Lab/German Shepherd to help people in need of psychological help.
However, Bazarewski writes, Kurt requires major surgeries that are difficult to pay for on a student's budget. The campaign hopes to raise $9,000.
Bazarewski posted an update last week to indicate that following a successful liver surgery in the summer, Kurt is scheduled to undergo knee surgery later this month. She wrote on Kurt's behalf:
"This Thanksgiving I am thankful to have such a great Mom and family who make sure that I get the medical help I need to live a long, healthy life. And thank you to everyone who has donated to me! I can't wait for this surgery to be over!"View the fundraiser online here.
