Early Morning Fire Roars Through Troy Garage

The Troy Fire Department rushed to prevent the garage fire from spreading to the nearby home.

TROY, MI — An early morning fire broke out in a garage, according to a press release.

The Troy Fire Department was dispatched to 4371 Forsyth on a report of a garage fire on Jan. 2 at 5:23 a.m. The homeowner reported that several compressed gas containers were inside the garage, which was engulfed in flames and smoke. Firefighters immediately got to work keeping the flames away from the gas containers.

Firefighters also established a protection line between the home and garage, which was about 40' away, to prevent the fire from spreading. The blaze was extinguished and damage estimates are incomplete.

Fire Department officials are investigating the origin and cause of the fire. There were no injuries or fatalities reported.
