The homeowner's barking dog reportedly sent the intoxicated man running back to his truck.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — An intoxicated 23-year-old Genesee County man fired shots in the air while approaching a home, according to a press release.

The incident happened on Jan. 7 at 4:46 a.m. A homeowner in the 400 block of N. Hadley Rd. in Brandon Township alerted Oakland County Sheriff's Office Deputies that a suspicious white Dodge pickup truck was parked in his driveway. A man was reportedly sitting in the passenger's seat and a woman was at the wheel.

The homeowner reports that the man then hopped out of the truck with a black handgun, firing approximately seven to eight rounds in the air as he made his way towards the home. However, the sound of the homeowner's barking dog caused the man to stop in his tracks and run back to the pickup truck. Deputies arrived on the scene moments later.
