Keep Swimming, Even When It's Cold Outside, at Troy Community Center

The Troy Family Aquatic Center ended the reason recently with a dog swim event, but you can chill by the pool all winter long indoors.

Many in Troy make a splash every summer at the Family Aquatic Center. However, opportunities abound for those who wish to keep all the benefits of swimming while remaining inside during the winter, thanks to the Troy Community Center.

Infant Swimming Resource (6 months to 6 years)

Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) lesson experience is a comprehensive 4-6 week program where each lesson is customized for the child.  ISR integrates swimming skills that are developmentally appropriate for young children, teaching them to save their own lives, while building confidence that can lead to a lifetime of water fun.

Babies 6-12 months learn to hold their breath under water, turn onto their backs and float unassisted.  Children over 1 year old are taught the swim-float-swim sequence: hold their breath underwater, swim with their head down, roll onto their back to rest and breathe and flip over to continue swimming until they reach safety.

For more information and to schedule a lesson, contact Anna Anderson at 248-431-8534, a.anderson@infantswim.com or infantswim.com.
