Lt. Ryan Wolf Named Troy Firefighter of the Year
Wolf has served as a Firefighter, Lieutenant and special team member in 15 years in the department.

Fire Chief William Nelson announced Lieutenant Ryan Wolf, assigned to Fire Station 1, as Firefighter of the Year for 2013. In his 15 years of service with the Fire Department, Wolf has served as a Firefighter, Lieutenant and special team member. He has received a Unit Commendation Award, Merit Service Award, Safe Driving Award, and was named Station 1 member of the Year in 2006.
In addition to training and responding to emergency incidents, Wolf has worked on a number of special projects for the Fire Department. He was instrumental in the development of the prototype mobile communications vehicle which was one of the first mobile units in the state to provide satellite data and network capability at incidents. This project led to the design and procurement of the Field Communications Unit, which Wolf contributed a significant amount of time and effort to implement. Â
He also served as the liaison from the Fire Department to the Building Operations Department during the remodeling of the kitchen and day room at Fire Station 1.

Wolf has served as a member and team leader of the Oakland County Communications Support Team, since its inception. He also serves on the Fire Department Technology Committee, and is a member of MI-TF1, the Michigan Urban Search and Rescue Task Force.Â
A lifelong resident of Troy, Wolf was one of the first members of the Troy Fire Explorer Post and served as the chief of the post. He is employed by the Troy Police Department as the Technology Administrator, overseeing computer, video, radio, and allied technologies.
