Man Sprays Cologne Inside Truck Upon Learning K-9 Unit Is En Route: Police
The K-9 discovered marijuana in the man's truck and Troy police arrested the Sterling Heights man.

TROY, MI — A traffic stop turned into a marijuana arrest, according to a press release.
Troy police conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck on Rochester Rd. on Dec. 20 at 2:34 a.m. While speaking with the driver, a 33-year-old Sterling Heights man, officers noticed he was trying to hide something in the back passenger side of his vehicle. He refused officers' request to search the vehicle and stated anything found inside the vehicle was not his, despite the fact that he owned the vehicle.
Upon learning that a Narcotics K-9 was en route, the man sprayed cologne throughout the truck. Once on the scene, the K-9 attempted reaching for an object in the center console, which officers discovered was a vial containing suspected marijuana. They also found a box of rolling papers above the driver's seat visor and a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana next to the driver’s seat. The suspected marijuana was field tested and tested positive for the presence of marijuana.
