Troy Police: Drunken Driver Had 3 Young Kids in Car

Police arrested the 50-year-old Troy man for operating while intoxicated and child endangerment.

A Troy Police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle just after 11 p.m. Friday that was traveling on Rochester Road near Troywood Drive without any headlights on.

Three adults and three children – ages 2, 5 and 6 years old – occupied the vehicle.

According to a media release from the Troy Police Department, the driver "smelled of intoxicants, had slurred speech and was very agitated and uncooperative."

Police performed a preliminary breath test (PBT) on the 50-year-old Troy man; results were 0.14 percent – almost twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Officers arrested the man for operating while intoxicated and child endangerment.
