Police: Joy-Riding Teen, 14, Flips Dump Truck in Troy
The teen had reportedly run away from Children's Village in Pontiac before stealing the dump truck Tuesday night.

A 14-year-old male could soon be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle after reportedly stealing a dump truck Wednesday night, then flipping it over while attempting to enter Interstate 75 in Troy, according to a media release from the .
A Troy Police officer noticed a dump truck approaching the Rochester Road entrance onto southbound Interstate 75 while traveling at a high speed just after 11 p.m. Tuesday. The driver of the truck then lost control on the on ramp and rolled the truck over, according to the report.
The Troy officer saw the teen exit the vehicle after the crash and run across Rochester Road into a weedy area, where the officer arrested the teen without incident.

According to the report, the teen told the officer he had escaped from Children's Village in Pontiac and was trying to get to Detroit when he stole the dump truck, which belonged to an Auburn Hills construction company.
The teen, who sustained a minor injury in the crash, was checked out at an area hospital and returned to Children's Village by Troy officers. The teen will be petitioned to Oakland County Probate Court for possession of a stolen vehicle.
