Pool Heater Sparks House Fire on Evaline Drive

There were no injuries resulting from a fire that damaged part of a family home in Troy on Thursday night.

A home on Evaline Drive in Troy was damaged Thursday night after a pool heater at the home apparently sparked a fire that spread to the home's attached garage, according to a media release from the . There were no injuries as a result of the fire.

A neighbor or passerby was the first to notice the fire and alerted the family, which was at home at the time. When Troy firefighters arrived, smoke and fire was showing form the northwest corner of the 3,000-square-foot house.

Two fire engines, an air tender and a rescue truck from four stations responded and quickly extinguished the fire, confining it to the corner of the 2-story home. The Fire Department was on the scene for an hour.

Though the damage to the affected part of the home is significant, the home may still be occupied, and there were no other nearby structures affected by the fire, according to the media release.

The fire is still under investigation at this time.
