Suspect Charged In Multiple Car Break-ins
Troy Police say a Detroit man allegedly broke into at least seven cars and took multiple items.

TROY, MI — A 51-year-old Detroit man is charged with multiple crimes including a felony for breaking into cars in several Troy neighborhoods in the early morning hours of Oct. 10, according to police reports. A resident of the 3000 block block of Bellows drive discovered the Detroit man in his car shortly after 5 a.m. when he walked out of his home to drive to work.
Police reports said the Detroit man took off running when he saw the homeowner, who described the suspect as wearing all black clothing. He didn’t find anything missing from his car, according to reports.
Officers found the Detroit man walking on Orpington Drive. He ran when he saw police and a short foot chase followed before officers caught up with him. Police found a trove of items on the Detroit man, reports said. Among items that were allegedly stolen from the cars include: ammunition, candy, cigarettes, batteries, medicine, pen lights, a compass, a master lock, $70 in assorted cash, two soft sunglasses case, one hard sunglass case, a green window punch, one SHSHD Wrist Watch, three gift cards, and $54.17 in assorted change.
After investigating, police reports said cars in the 3000 block of Historic Drive, 2000 block of Hinge Drive, 3000 block of Eagle Drive, and 3000 block of Pasadena Drive were all targeted. Police reports said at least seven vehicles were broken into, several with their windows smashed in.

Charges against the Detroit man include Possession of Ammunition by a Felon, Breaking and Entering of a Vehicle with Damage to Vehicle, Breaking and Entering a Vehicle to Steal Property Less Than $200, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property, and Attempted Breaking and Entering a Vehicle to Steal Property Less than $200.
