Troy Historic Village Offers Window Restoration Workshop
The workshop will teach participants how to repair, restore and maintain wooden windows while performing an actual restoration.

On August 24 and 25, the Troy Historic Village will host an outstanding, hands-on way to learn how to repair, restore and maintain wooden windows while participating in an actual restoration project in the historic Niles-Barnard House. The two-day class runs from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. both days.
Jim Turner, a member of the Michigan Historic Preservation Network and a professional window restorer, will lead a two-day workshop that includes window evaluation, paint removal, wood repair and replacement, and glazing techniques.
Each participant will receive a kit including tools, mask, and handouts and work on a window from the Niles Barnard house to “learn by doing.”
