Troy Police Bust Drunken Driver
A Detroit man was arrested for drunken driving on Livernois Thursday.

TROY, MI — A 43-year-old Detroit man was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence - third offense after a traffic top on southbound Livernois on July 28. Troy police officers stopped the man just south of Hickory drive at about 1 a.m. after they noticed he was driving his Chevrolet Camaro erratically, according to police reports.
After stopping the Detroit man, officers noticed the strong smell of alcohol emanating from him. A subsequent searched revealed a container of marijuana. He submitted to a Preliminary Breath Test and the result came back at .104 percent, which is over Michigan’s .08 legal limit.
He was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol – 3rd Offense (convictions in Battle Creek – 2000 and Southfield – 2008), Possession of Marijuana, and Driving While License Suspended.

- Eastbound W. Fourteen Mile Road, West of John R Road, 7/29/2017, 8:44 PM: Two off-duty police officers observed the driver of a red 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt driving her vehicle erratically and nearly collided into the rear end of their vehicle. The officers were able to convince the driver to pull into a parking lot to await on-duty officers who were headed to the area. The responding officers spoke with the driver, a 40 year old female from Oak Park, who denied having drank any alcohol but indicated she did take some psychiatric medication. She was asked to perform several sobriety evaluations to which she did but the officers noted that she performed poorly. She was arrested and found in her purse was a prescribed bottle of Thorazine. She was transported to the Troy Lock-up Facility where she was read her Chemical Test Rights and agreed to take a Blood Test. Her blood was drawn by medical personnel and she was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Narcotics pending laboratory results.
Retail Fraud
- Bath and Body Works, 440 W. Fourteen Mile Road, 7/26/2017, 6:10 PM: Two unknown females came to the business and stole $473 worth of merchandise for sale in the store. The suspects were described as two black females, one approximately 5’4” 160 LBs with the second suspect approximately 5’6” 180 LBS. Kohl’s Department Store, 500 John R Road, 7/28/2017, 3:12 PM: A 44 year old female from Sterling Heights came to the business with her three children and attempted to steal $131 worth of merchandise for sale in the store before being stopped by Loss Prevention. The suspect attempted to conceal the stolen merchandise in her eldest daughter’s backpack. She was issued a misdemeanor citation for Retail Fraud – 3rd Degree by the responding officers and released from the scene.
- Macy’s Department Store, 2750 W. Big Beaver Road, 7/28/2017, 6:36 PM: A 21 year old female from Saint Charles, came to the business and attempted to steal $888.73 worth of merchandise for sale in the store before being stopped by Loss Prevention. She was found to have a wire cutting tool in her purse which was also lined with aluminum foil in an attempt to defeat the anti-theft security sensors. She was arrested by the responding officers and charged with Retail Fraud – 2nd Degree and Possession of Burglary Tools. Macy’s Department Store, 500 W. Fourteen Mile Road, 7/28/2017, 8:34 PM: A 15 year old female from Sterling Heights came to the business and attempted to steal $294 worth of merchandise for sale in the store before being stopped by Loss Prevention. The suspect was charged with Retail Fraud – 2nd Degree and released into the custody of her father who signed the Oakland County Juvenile Petition Form agreeing to bring her to juvenile court upon notice.
- Garrett Builders, Ashwood Drive and Maplewood Court, 5/27/2017 - 7/28/2017: Construction Manager reports unknown suspect(s) have been stealing building materials overnight from the construction area. Items totaling $3,000 to $5,000 in losses include studs, headers, and plywood.
- 6000 block of Granger Drive, 7/28/2017, 7:00 AM – 8:15 AM: Victim placed her out-going mail in her mailbox and later discovered it had been stolen by unknown suspect(s). One of the envelopes contained a $140 check that was cancelled by the victim who is unable to provide any possible suspect(s).

- 4000 block of Argyle Drive, 7/27/2017, 12:00 Noon: Victim discovered unknown suspect(s) gained access to his credit card account and completed a fraudulent purchase of $338 in the State of California. Victim did not give anyone permission to do such and does not know how his account information was compromised.
- 4000 block of Butler Drive, 6/20/2017: Victim was notified by the AT&T Fraud Department regarding unknown suspect(s) opening two accounts in her name using her United States Social Security Number without her knowledge nor permission. The accounts were opened in Detroit and Highland Park. A third fraudulent account opening was attempted but denied. Victim does not know how her personal information was compromised.
