Troy Police Department K9 Will Be A Lot Safer On Patrol In His New Bulletproof Vest
Troy Police Department K9 Eli has been with the force for two years.

TROY, MI — Eli, a K9 with the Troy Police Department, spends his days courageously detecting drugs and tracking down criminals. While he's one fearless pup, Eli will be a lot safer on patrol these days thanks to his new bulletproof and stab-proof vest, which was a gift from the Troy-based Professional Law Enforcement Association (PLEA) Foundation, Inc. K9, according to a press release.
Eli has been working on the force for two years without a vest - until now. Eli's police office partner, Mindy Weingart, expressed in a statement what a game-changer the vest is, “Eli is put into a lot of dangerous situations while doing his job and the vest will help protect him.” She continued, “I am very grateful for the generous donation from PLEA.”
K9 Storm created the custom made vest for Eli, which cost roughly $2,800 vest. Eli is one of three K9's who are a part of the Troy Police Department. Eli and his fellow K9's work in Troy and often help other area departments.
