Troy School Celebrates 35th Anniversary
The Detroit Tigers organization helped the school celebrate with free tickets.

TROY, MI - Happy 35th birthday to Discovery Corner Academy (DCA). The Troy private school recently celebrated it’s 35th birthday and the Detroit Tigers organization helped kick off anniversary festivities with complimentary tickets for staff and families. Go Tigers! DCA kept the party going post-game back at the school campus with a bounce house, Kona ice truck and a tuition raffle.
So, how did the school make it to the big 3-5? Director Loretta Marcotullio, who started as a teacher at the school over 20 years ago, credits DCA’s success with flexibility and a personal touch. Marcotullio explains, "After doing this for 35 years, we recognize the need for flexibility." Marcotullio continued, “We do what works for each family. You can have your child in school for three days instead of four. Or our half days end at 12 but you don’t have to be here at 12. Boom. What if you have a baby and he wakes up at a quarter to twelve and needs to be fed? You can show up until 12:45 p.m. without being charged."
The school is also continually rolling out cool experiences for students. Whether it's a new Spanish class or monthly bike and ice cream days.
